Husband Sets Wife on Fire Over Infidelity Allegations 🔥
A man from Korangi Industrial Area’s Mehran Town was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly setting his wife on fire. The police, led by Senior Superintendent Mohammed Qais Khan, tracked him down in Shah Faisal Colony and arrested him after a raid.
The victim, now fighting for her life at the Civil Hospital Burns Centre, told the police that she had married the accused out of love two years ago. However, soon after their marriage, he started abusing her and pursuing other women.
On March 14, when he didn’t return home until late, she suspected he was with another woman. When she called, her husband answered and verbally abused her, blaming her for interfering in his life.
Later that night, at 11:45 PM, he returned home, beat her mercilessly, doused her in kerosene, and set her on fire before fleeing the house. It was her father-in-law who took her to the hospital, where she is still undergoing treatment.
She has now filed a case under Section 324 (attempted murder) and demanded justice.
Another Shocking Murder: Woman Seeking Divorce Stabbed to Death
In another tragic case the same day, Rehmat Begum, 45, was murdered by her husband outside Malir Court, where she was seeking khula (divorce). Her 18-year-old daughter was also injured in the attack.
The suspect, Sarwar, attacked them in broad daylight, leaving Rehmat dead on the spot. Police arrested him immediately, but the brutal murder has left many questioning how safe women are in our society.
Why Does This Keep Happening?
These cases aren’t just isolated incidents—they are a reflection of a deeper problem in our society. Many women suffer in silence, fearing backlash, societal pressure, or worse, being killed.
It’s Time to Speak Up!
No woman should live in fear of the person she once trusted. If you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship, seek help, speak out, and demand justice.
Violence is NOT love. Silence is NOT an option.
